Understated here is the deception that underlay all of these actions. For example, two days before announcing that masks were critical and that everyone should wear two, Fauci wrote a friend (FOIA'd data) and told her that masks were worthless and not to bother. When he had to testify under oath about why this amazing turnaround to promote a stance that not only the world, but that HE knew was wrong, his answer (You cannot make this up) was "I do not remember, but it must have been really important".
This is not "mistakes were made" kind of stuff. This is malfeasance (for whatever reason) and deserves to be treated as such.
Thanks for this 12 point summary. I have no intention of reading his book as I agree he is narcissistic.
Coddling Dr Fauci has to stop, we need to be honest in how we postmortem the pandemic including the experts performance and behavior. Dr Fauci had a nice cushy position where few could challenge him. That needs to change starting with his long overdue replacement Dr Jeanne Marrazzo. Let’s hope so.
Fauci failed during the HIV crisis yet still was promoted and lauded. He is the poster boy for government incompetence and rewarding mediocre performance.
Hands down: Fauci definitely a criminal at best. In a just world, Dr. P's bill of particulars would be the opening statement at that Clown's criminal trial
It’s ok to state the mistakes Fauci made in the midst of an unprecedented health crisis. Being wrong, narcissistic or even involved in misguided emails are not crimes. To suggest he should go to jail is right wing vitriol that fails to challenge his inaccuracies. The biggest indictment is that he did not act like a serious scientist in search of the truth; he disappointed us.
We should ascertain his knowledge of and involvement in funding gain-of-function projects. If they were prohibited at the time and he did them anyway, that should be criminally prosecuted. But the wagons were pretty tightly circled for a very long time-- the evidence is probably gone.
Covid is a technical issue. Fauci knows that none of his critics understand the science very well and he knows the public don't either. This allows him to keep lying and get away with it. If you are going to get him, don't go into the ring unless you have a prize fighter with you.
Your average doctor is not up to the task here.
If you want to destroy him on lab leak (for example), get a Kevin McKernan (Medicinal Genomics) on your side. Kevin would destroy him in minutes.
Any decent immunologist should be able to destroy him as well but so far I have not seen anyone try. Even with undergrad immunology, you can demolish his positions on the urgency of the whole deal, the necessity of the vaccine at all and the prior immunity issue.
Fauci can read the room and if he sees real trouble coming, he will panic. So far he is fending of the attacks with relative ease.
He also, likely made millions off this pandemic while forcing us to lock down, wear masks, keep kids out of school and shutting down the economy. He is definitely a devil in my book. He was right about nothing.
Regarding equipoise, Fauci would say that we didn't have equipoise on masking and so forth because a large majority of experts were on one side of the issue. But being an expert is a _job_, and experts were afraid to be on the wrong side for fear of losing their jobs. Fauci, with his position as grand poobah of funding, could have changed that culture of fear. Instead, he encouraged it.
Great summary. MSM and Democrats are in bed with Fauci and Big Pharma. He is a negligent failure at best, criminal at worst.
I sincerely appreciate your views that I’ve read all over substack. Your insight is valuable and I try to pass it along.
Ol Fauci seems like quite the narcissist! Anyone posting their grade school GPA is looking for quite the pat on the back.
Come now, doctor. Let's be fair to him... He didn't do bad job. He did a CRIMINAL job.
He belongs in jail. Never Forgive. Never Forget.

Great list! Much, much, more could be added, but this is enough to put him in jail where he belongs. Absent that, he deserves eternal damnation.
In summary, Fauci is a one man propaganda machine with complete hubris and arrogance.

Nah…. He should go to jail!

Misguided? Do you really think that characterizes what he did?

If Trump had won reelection and kept Fauci on board the media would be anti-vaccine mandate and anti-Fauci.
