The Supreme Court is poised to strike down Affirmative action— specifically the ability for schools to consider race among other factors in admissions decisions. A recent editorial in Science magazine laments this decision and vows to continue fighting for diversity in science. Of course the Supreme Court's expected decision will affect many aspects of the academy beyond science, but it raises the interesting question: can science answer political questions?
