I just subscribed and paid so I could comment. In a recent post about butter vs some other oils YOU asked HOW MUCH?? thank you. NO ONE asks how much we consume of food and beverage because that's the point of diets-- figure out how to manipulate nutrients so we can stuff a lot in our mouths without getting too fat. We failed since 65% of us are OBESE and MORBID OBESITY is the fastest "growing" segment. A 5'6" woman who weigh s 185 pounds is NOT obese according to Dr. Fauci. He is 5'7" and weighs 142 so he knows that everyone around him is fat. He is always the shortest and skinniest guy in the room. Ozempic in the a water supply instead of fluoride and then there will be huge economic disruptions. Covid is worse if you have inflammation and that is the fat person's situation. Fauci knew this thus the closedown but he is too much of a wellness bitch and wimp to have said., THE BMI IS FLAWED. WAISTLINE CIRCUMFERENCE IS THE BEST MEASURE!! Since 2008 annual waistline measurement has been law in Japan-- a "foodie culture-- thus only 3.8% obesity. We will be a nation of invalids. 100 mil have fatty liver; 96 mil are pre-diabetic; 45 mil have diabetes and all of them have high blood pressure and high cholesterol etc. We AMERICANS are exceptional!!
No one advertised across the TV screen how essential Vit D was to survival. People with a level above 50 had much greater survival - some studies say that no one died with a level above 50.
I find it an absolute miracle that VP can keep his job at UCSF.
I am incredibly grateful that they have not canceled him and whatever magical miraculous powers he has to keep his job, I am very thankful for. Keep speaking up VP, and how do you feel about a job at the NIH? I can tell you that the weather is not as nice in DC😉
The Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities (yes there is such a thing listed in PubMed) has articles showing that racial and ethnic minorities have better health outcomes when treated by a physician of their own racial and ethnic background. That does it for me. From now on I'm only seeing white Italian-American doctors.
Yeah, exactly exactly. That’s why all those people voted for Trump because all those people are well read and understand about NIH grants. Not because they’re racist or sexist or homophobic or trans phobic. Intellectual worldview is changing to post postmodern and they were modern or premodern thinkers. Bottom line-integral theory explains it all. Electoral college is a form of DEI. BTW.
These concepts started rather benign and perhaps even productive as "population health" years ago, then devolved into "social determinants of health" and, and finally all credibility died with DEI.
I was strongly struck by the absence of any consideration of people/ employees etc having the choice to do the right thing and not go along saying " I had no choice ." We always have a choice even if we don't like all the options. If as a culture we don't start standing up to what is wrong, stop bending to ' keep our job ' it won't end well. People seem to think it is innocent, " Oh, I will just drop in a catch phrase and keep my job," Let me tell you a story of my being in charge of an Emergency Room in a large city Ivy League hospital. As can happen there were two very ill patients who were candidates for an ICU bed.. There was only one open bed in the hospital's ICU. One patient was a woman around 70 with a complicated heart problem. Only the ICU had the equipment to intervene and treat such a case. The other was a young man in his 20's HIV positive, his diabetes was severely out of control. It would be easy to treat him in an ICU but I had everything I needed to treat him in the ER. Not so for the woman. I gave her the bed. I did not know the word for it as it was many years ago, but the young IVY trained medical residents ( students ) were already indoctrinated. They attacked me for being every anti- DEI slur to can think of. They were trained not to make a medical decision but to make a DEI decision. No matter to them that she would not have survived, that was not even a consideration in their calculations. All they saw was DEI. They would be able to retain their ability to virtue signal. Fortunately, for her I was in charge. I think in less dramatic professions the real impact of ' going along ' is not as crisp.
DEI will hold on its last gasp among academics. It’s such a paternalistic bullshit thing. I truly hope it leaves healthcare. It’s done it a lot of damage.
I hope this nonsense never comes back.
Hope is insufficient.
I am considering applying for a grant to study detransitioning mice. It could be lucrative.

Here's an amazingly cogent and compelling argument that the only way out of this morass is to stop government funding of universities and research, period. https://boriquagato.substack.com/p/fixing-education-and-research
Seemed more an extremist ideological rant; anything but cogent and compelling except perhaps to libertarian extremists.
A libertarian extremist is one who cares about your liberty as much as his own! That's a compliment!
Yes! Very well said as usual. It was a sad state of affairs and I am so glad the fad is ending.
