Let us not forget somebody (or some body) hired her based on some criteria and vetting. This resignation fixes little but optics.

And don't forget that My Big "O" endorsed her after her talk.

"Former President Barack Obama has secretly lobbied Harvard University officials to stick by embattled President Claudine Gay as she faces pressure to resign for giving cover to antisemitism on campus and for committing plagiarism.

Obama, 62, a 1991 graduate of Harvard’s law school, privately urged the university to let Gay remain in office after she testified Dec. 5 before the House Education and Workforce Committee that calls for the genocide of Jews may be permissible under the school’s code of conduct, depending on “context,” according to a report out Friday."

His endorsement is the kiss of death.

Thst’s just wrong !

As a teacher of plagiarism? Seems incredible to me that someone with this many issues with plagiarism is allowed to retain an academic appointment.

Clean house Period.

Let them go fuck up somewhere else

Enough people realized that she might destroy the entire industry, not just Harvard, and she probably woke up with a metaphorical horse's head in her bed.

The next layer of demoralization is the Harvard Corporation board. They are trying to cover their asses, but need to be exposed. All roads lead to Obama: https://yuribezmenov.substack.com/p/how-to-get-into-harvard-gay-bobo-corporation

There are more people involved than Obama. That’s an easy out.

Its a friggin industry! Like get rid of them head if Coca Cola, their are 100 VPs under the "C Suite?

MSNBC no doubt already in contract negotiations for her own show. She meets the primary requirement of being able to parrot the ideas of other progressives, and pretend they are original thoughts.

Hahaha! I just told my bride the same thing. But something about reading Vinay’s post today and remembering her smirk just kinda gave me a few warm fuzzies.

As a university faculty member I am most surprised how a president can have only 11 publications!

Rick Gibson's avatar

Well, 12 now, if you count the resignation letter!

Ray Bob's avatar

I see what you did there, nicely done.

J Lee MD PhD's avatar

You can say that again !!

Mark L's avatar

Eleven of her own?

I have met quite a few people from Harvard over the years, with only one exception they were all extremely arrogant and not very interesting people. Gay fits Harvard mold perfectly.

Get a job at the UN, you ain't seen nothing yet. Arrogance? Find a new word for it

Carmen von Richthofen's avatar

Everyone who provided letters of reference or recommendation for Ms Gay or who voted to hire her, should also resign immediately. A travesty from top to bottom!

J Lee MD PhD's avatar

Vinay: I agree with your sentiments as posted here. It's a crying shame that this ever happened because there must be at least 500 people in the USA who have spotless academic credentials and a squeaky clean record when it comes to issues involving even a whiff of CHEATING in the “publication game”. Why wasn’t one of THOSE folks chosen to be the new Big Cigar at Harvard? This situation now is just a horrendous stain on the Harvard escutcheon and the “search committee” that chose her must undergo a Come to Jesus moment. I sure would like to know who else was on the “short list” when she was given the job.

Black & female privilege!

It is incredible that she would think, even for a moment, that she was the most qualified person to lead Harvard. Most people that copy off others at least have enough self awareness to understand they aren't exactly leading the pack.

Freedom Fox's avatar

That dude shoulda been fired a long time ago. He's clearly unqualified. Don't let the door hit you on the way out, Mr. Gay.

Lucy's avatar

People are saying it’s a whaman

Frontera Lupita's avatar

Mr. Gay is a woman!🤔😜

Freedom Fox's avatar

No he's not. My feelings about the subject are what matters most.

Mystic William's avatar

“I self identify her as a man. Are you denying me my right to genderize others?”

Freedom Fox's avatar

Exactly! I'm offended! I've been microagressed! And so have you! We need to take class action against our aggressors depriving us of our rights! To be offended! And we most certainly are! How dare they?!?!

Mark L's avatar

Lol your bad! Keep it up!

Frontera Lupita's avatar

Oh yeah…keep on believing! 🙄🤔

Freedom Fox's avatar

Umm, that's a dude. Look at him. Can't hide the Adam's apple. You're microagressing me. You're a stochastic terrorist. How dare you? Gender-denier!

Frontera Lupita's avatar

Whoa Nellie…time to rein that there horse of yours in! 🤠🐎

Freedom Fox's avatar

Sorry, my sarcasm font was turned off.

Russ Hamilton's avatar

Are you sure? Seems like context is missing?

Swamp_Yankee's avatar

It's not surprising that she was hired given that those that hired her no doubt acquired their positions as a result of DEI policies.

Russ Hamilton's avatar

The plagiarism was the least of the problems regarding her qualifications. This is a woman who could have been speaking on behalf of the Fuhrer himself when claiming that the eradication of the Jews needed "context", to be considered unacceptable.

Bugs's avatar

And she plagiarized her resignation letter.

Russ Hamilton's avatar

Perhaps it is not plagiarized, just needs additional context?

rickrolled's avatar

Good.

I would also add - she should be permanently expelled from academia. Somehow I doubt that will be the outcome though.

David Sousa's avatar

Gay doesn't fail the basic standard of understanding plagiarism: she simply lacks standards.
