I hate to agree. He chose to participate in a broken system. The system enabled him, so Dr Prasad’s point is sound, but he could have tried to be a real academic
James Frey went back on Oprah and took his lashes...even Lance Armstrong got ahead of his cheating scandal and they both took the narrative and learned from it...became the lesson...and went on with their lives...the difference they had an inner circle who didn't continue to whisper in their ear...never admit you did it...Jason's inner circle didn't want him to admit any wrong because they would look bad..leaving him alone....making a dark choice at his darkest hour...so now they have to rewrite history ..it's everyone else who is to blame and claim racism to deflect from their own accountability....
I actually don't think this has to do with wokeness. I think it's a microcosm of how most longstanding institutions work, which is to promote incompetent yes men (and yes women). At the top of our hierarchies tend to be people who value their career more than they value integrity and truth.
The most brilliant employees are never at the top of the hierarchy. When they ARE promoted (like Vinay Prasad), we see what happens.
I listened to the entire video in the link you provided. They were just complaining about the universities they worked for. It gave me no clue as to whether they’re incompetent or not.
You're still blocking me on X for pointing out you are not an engineer and never understood aerosol transmission of viruses. Apparently still don't! You're very smart but prone to overplay your hand.
Maybe it would be worthwhile you had a closer look at what the GHENT university really is. Many scientists would be honoured to work there. Just my 2cents (euro)
Very good thoughts on the issue. It's part of why I don't have any interest in going back to school. I went to a business school for a one year program. But I couldn't imagine spending four years with a group of people who would allow such things. There's no way I'd know it would be viable in the job market.
Please run your transcripts through grammar and spelling checks. It is hard to share them with folks who would benefit, but instead find case to ignore your insights.
Is there a common theme and/or root cause in the political leanings of higher ed, along with their curators (journals and societies), and contemporary executive leadership in Academic Medicine?
The "liberal" viewpoint you allude to simultaneously becomes ultra-exclusionary and "conservative" when it comes to the plutocracies that actually administer higher ed.
Jason is not a victim. Nobody forced him to lie. He freely chose to do it.

Thanks, Dr Prasad. You have a spine and that's what we need.
We need doctors to stop beating around the bush on the gender thing.
It's ALL a lie.
Governments need to stop sanctioning FAKE SEX id.
Woke must die. Surely everyone with a brain is beginning to see this.

Check out these British "Academics" from an article posted by Benjamin Ryan. I would put them in the category as "incompetent."

I'd love to hear your thoughts about woke ideology and NIH support at your current institution and my alma mater, UCSF.

I would love to hear you with Mike Rowe.
Nowadays, it is much easier to view everything through the lens of racism. It’s so exhausting.
thank you, Vinay.
Cofnas has since been suspended.
