Biased is an understatement. They are mentally ill lefitst activists. Their reporting makes their readers and our world worse off.

I can’t really understand how smart people can read mainstream media like this anymore. The headlines are full of adjectivess and this “sucks” talk is typical. It is all opinion on one side of issues, and they don’t even bother pretending they have journalistic objectivity anymore. I guess it’s all Gonzo journalism now (but not as fun as Hunter Thomson of course.)

The NYT and any science topic should never be in the same sentence, also economics. The quality of the writing and thinking has been exponentially downward for at least a decade. “Very much sucks?” Doesn’t this language end with your middle school English teacher? Do folks even get a journalism degree, or a second degree in an area that would remotely qualify them for writing on this topic? Eric Topol should be DQ’ed from COVID conversation period, he is patently political (led the charge to delay the vaccine) deeply embedded with getting as much NIH money as he can for Scripps TSRI (which had to return $10 million for charging NIH funded grants for non-grant work) , shills for long COVID constantly. NIH has spent a billion on long COVID research, and what do we know? Hey Paxlovid doesn’t work.

And “long COVID” probably either doesn’t exist or is vastly overdiagnosed.

Working in LTC, I can hardly wait until we are in “high respiratory case” season again and have to restart all the virtue- signaling, government-mandated stupid face covering and frequent testing routine again. My geriatric patients are over it, too.

I just read Nellie Bowles book, "Morning After the Revolution" about her experience as a NYT reporter and the aftermath. These "reporters" are unhinged and divorced from reality. And these young and well dumb/naive folks have outsized influence because management is afraid of what is said on social media. As Bowles said in her book, it is kinda funny that this is what the NY Times have come to.

I’m extremely grateful that my PCP stopped pushing the “vaccine” quite some time ago. I’m guilty of buying into the fear mongering and had a vax and a boost. After that and dropping fear, I was and remain done with it. I am now convinced that most media is on a government payroll. I think it’s a lot worse than, say, north koreas media propoganda bc the US is still calling it NEWS. We all need to realize that our “media” is designed to control the masses. Do with that as you will.

My PCP recently asked if I was up to date w boosters and I said "Nope" and that I had no intention of ever catching up. She was very respectful of my choice, so I appreciated that. There are still people out there making comments on Social Media, e.g. nextdoor that people who don't get vaxxd don't care about their community. Makes me nuts 🤬.

I can see how they feel; and these are the ones who give away freedom to thunderous applause and self pats on the back. To be truly free I believe we have to question many things. And that takes work and thought.

So true and especially so here in Canada where our taxpayer dollars help fund the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corp.) who definitely provide the news the current Gov. wants them to present. Sadly too many Canadians actually believe the CBC version of “news”.

Here’s my question - who is actually reporting to the health department that they have covid? And secondly who’s even testing? Last, cherry picking data is one of my all time pet peeves-that person should be fired.

I think you’re too kind, Vinay! I think most of them have not read any of the studies that have come out over the last couple of years. I wonder if they’re actually interested in learning much of anything about their subject matter. They’re fear mongering, looking for something to write about that will get attention. Thanks for posting the graph over a more appropriate period of time which shows that cases are very low. It’s amazing how people can be easily manipulated with a carefully designed visual aid.

It’s so gratifying to read others’ rejection of COVID testing and continued COVID hysteria, because I sometimes feel like the only one who has moved on from the panic and insanity that has engulfed us for 4 years. However, I feel compelled to point out that the writer seems to be referring to her own experience with COVID (“I had it last week…”) when she claims it “still sucks”, and not the supposed increase in NYC cases.

@Vinay, you know who's even more out of touch? The College Board. In the SF/Bay Area, it is impossible to find a seat for the SAT. I'm all for standardized testing, but it's not really "standard" anymore if the only people who can sit for it are buying airplane tickets to Texas. I wrote and pointed this out and reminded them that it was their job to secure testing locations - I mean, rent a hotel conference room if you have to - and here's what they said:

"We have received your email regarding test center availability. We will be more than happy to assist you by providing you with the following information.

We know that this is a particularly stressful time if you’re applying for college, and the virus has heightened this stress for many. Colleges and universities understand this too and this year, they’re rightfully being flexible with their application requirements. In some cases, they're extending deadlines and/or accepting scores after deadlines pass. We have been keeping colleges up to date on testing availability and capacity. You should also check college websites to get the most accurate information on their policies and deadlines.

As schools continue to navigate uncertainties due to the coronavirus, the top priorities for College Board are the health and safety of students and educators. All weekend test centers must adhere to local public health guidelines and follow College Board requirements.

There is limited testing capacity in certain areas due to public health restrictions and high demand. While College Board can't directly control test center capacity and availability, we're working to ensure as many students as possible are able to test safely."

When was propaganda ever representative of the truth? If it were, it wouldn't be propaganda. The New York Propaganda Times is true to its mission of disseminating propaganda consistently and as far and wide as possible.
