Agree with Jon. We live in Bethesda and frequently use both DCA and IAD. If traffic is a confounder, the GW Parkway is typically more of a hassle than 495>the Dulles access road.
As for sudden/unexpected death, after 50 years+ as a doc, I view such death as - well - unexpected…and sad for those left to mourn…but not necessarily tragic. My father died in his sleep while taking a pre-dinner nap after a full day’s work on our farm. He had the good fortune to avoid the dwindles. After observing so much slow diminution from Alzheimer’s, aphasic stroke, ALS, malignant brain tumors, etc, expiring suddenly and unexpectedly after a full day’s work - be it checking the fence lines or bolstering an ally in need - seems to me a blessing. I hope I am so fortunate-I inherited my father’s pride, and the prospect of evolving into A Chronic Patient is not an appealing one.
Did his last caller give any advice? Probably a bit of bad timing; just finished transatlantic flight with appropriate after effects that made him 1. minimize feeling off, 2. want to just get some rest to feel better in the am!
Actually, it is super easy to get to Dulles these days via Dulles Toll Road (no toll for airport traffic, and there are two great garages for terminal parking) or the Metro's Silver Line (<60 minutes from any DC metro station). I highly recommend it! :)

The media is our worst enemy 🤓
