6 lessons from Anthony Fauci's diary
Rand Paul continues to investigate Anthony Fauci and has released his diary. Here are 6 lessons we can learn from reading it.
Fauci said Covid’s IFR was 0.2 to 0.3% in February 2020. Ironically this is nearly exactly the estimate reached by John Ioannidis and Jay Bhattacharya and much lower than estimates reached by others, who criticized them. Fauci should have signed the GBD.
Fauci advocated for school closure privately with politicians. This directly contradicts his later messaging when he pretended he had nothing to do with it.
He also helped pave the way for bans on family members seeing dying relatives. A cruel policy that— like nearly all of Fauci’s recommendations— had no evidence, and no ongoing NIAID funding to study rigorously.
Fauci worked to push boosters for all people in partnership with the Biden administration— against sound scientific judgement of ACIP Notably, Fauci was wrong about occupational risk, and this policy was later reversed.
Politico was going to report on the poor job the Biden administration was doing in handling vaccine rollout and other pandemic issues but Fauci intervened to defend them on background.
Overall, the diary reflects an obsession with his image and self promotion, even at times of great death and uncertainty. His vanity is spread across pages and pages.
Fauci funded researchers with tax payer money and then asked them to nominate him for science awards with cash prizes that he could keep. This appears to be a loophole for legal bribery.
Bottom line: Anthony Fauci did a poor job. He was wrong (at least his public remarks were wrong) about: lab leak, school closure, lockdowns, cloth masking, double cloth masking, mask mandates, masking 2 year olds, vaccine mandates, boosters, vaccinating kids. Very likely he funded the research that triggered the pandemic itself, in violation of federal law. A crime for which he has pre-emptively been pardoned for by President Biden. Strangely, he has charmed the media and left wing establishment to the point his massive errors are ignored entirely. Rand Paul may be unable to convict Fauci of any crime, but his investigation has set in motion the correct historical view of Fauci; eventually the textbooks will be correct.
The blanket pardon for unspecified crimes from 2014 to 2025 is such a horrific act. It's one thing for a President to pardon someone for crimes they've been charged and convicted of, and an entirely different situation to provide this kind of legal protection. I think if you want to issue/accept a blanket pardon, you should have to provide a full confession for all the crimes you're being accused of committing. Such hypocrisy.
Fauci should be in prison. He has destroyed millions of lives. Yet he still is receiving a full pension along with taxpayer funded security and a sinecure teaching at Georgetown.
