On Twitter, Eric Topol said that authorizing 2nd boosters for all would be "better than discarding doses."

I responded:

"Why is it better than discarding doses?

Sometimes when I've had a couple alcoholic beverages and I'm done drinking but there's still wine in my glass, I dump it in the sink. I don't think, 'Might as well use my body as a drain!' The harms of that would outweigh the benefits."

Topol is a verifiable idiot -- and I know him personally. He can be bought for a nickel and has been over and over again. Shameful for the profession.

Great analogy!

It's like people who will finish off a plate of food so they don't waste it. At the very least just take it home. And if it's a sugary drink or alcohol and you're not thirsty anymore or don't feel like getting more buzzed, just leave it.

Or why not take the remaining medicine in your cabinet instead of discarding it? Extra antibiotics? Extra tylenol? Extra aspirin? Chug it down!

My daughter had to get boosted yesterday in order to attend Santa Clara University. She feels awful today. I’m beyond livid. I will never again get a flu vaccine etc because of how they have treated us during covid. I have ZERO faith in our government and it’s 100% their fault.

Sorry to hear that.

I had to request an exemption for a Cal State Fullerton because I'm an online-only student. However, students doing remote-live (Zoom) classes still had to get vax'd. It's nuts over here in CA. Some organizations in Los Angeles still require masks, vax, or both.

It’s worse than disgusting what they’re doing!

😭 I'm so sorry. I'm too am expecting my 20yo daughter's college to require another booster in the fall. She had covid 2 months after her second dose, required a booster 4 months later. Then we all just had case #2 over the last two weeks. No major symptoms. (Hubby and I and her brothers are not vaccinated.) She's already 3 doses and 2 covid cases in, and I'm so pissed, just waiting for their announcement. Thing is, she's an OT major, so medical related, and will probably need it just to do her field work. Basically stuck either way. For a damn cold, at this point.

I’m sorry for your daughter too. Since it doesn’t stop transmission it still makes NO sense to mandate the boosters. Get one if you want but the mandates are totally out of line.

I think we also need to talk about boosters for people over 50 or 60 who are of normal weight and in good health. If the boosters are just more of the same (formulated for an outdated variant) and they aren't particularly effective in the Omicron era, why would they benefit someone over 50/60? I am 65 and in good health. I've had the vax and one booster. The CDC recommendation says, "If your last shot was at least 4 months ago, you need another booster..." I can't imagine getting a covid booster every 4 months for life. I'm not currently planning to get any more shots.

Part of the payload of these policies is the irrationality. That is, by inducing people to do things that don’t make sense, they demoralize and degrade the psychology of everyone involved. This is a key mechanism of communism. Rod Dreher’s “Live Not By Lies” or some of James Lindsay’s talks elucidate this.

I have worked hard to ignore everything that Jerry Adams has said from the very beginning of the pandemic. He has consistently come across to me as a very wet-behind-the ears guy, no doubt a nice man who means well, but certainly without the tickets or training or experience to ever have been made Surgeon General of anything. Not the sharpest tool in the tool bag in my opinion, he certainly has zero credentials for opining authoritatively about any aspect of epdemiology even when wearing the Public Health dress uniform that made him look like some kind of decorated Portugese admiral.

I wonder how much of the vaccine/booster push is made because "leaders" want to appear to be doing something relatively easy (get a shot!) rather than other measures that might also reduce transmission or reduce severity: installing high-quality ventilations systems in buildings or air purifiers in classrooms; encouraging people to lose weight and take better care of their health in general.

These policies are probably also done to placate the minority (majority, depending on where you live or what social circles you travel in) that lives in irrational fear of the 'rona.

And the hunch that pharmaceutical companies simply want to unload excess vaxs makes sense too.

Only a ardent member of the 'vaccine' cult would take a 4th dose, at this point (IMO, of course!) They are killing off their most ardent supporters!

The really do think people are stupid, and they have a point. But they just won't give up, seems like this is going to backfire on them, but I guess it hasn't so far- and they still have the bought off media and governments (by the WEF/globalists) so they may figure, why not?
