Our university pays for an upgraded version of Claude…I’ve tried to implement it in my work and have found it overhyped and underwhelming. There was an initial “gee whiz” period, after that has subsided it has not proven very useful for me. I do use it for completing annoying administrative paperwork that I don’t care about. But anything that I do care about, I do myself. After all, if I didn’t bother to write it, why should you bother to read it.

it is refreshing to see people putting their own skin in the game... unlike the pols (obama, gates, Gore, sanders) who fly around in private jets, on the waterfront estates crowing climate change nonsense

Al Gore has an awful lot to account for. His nonsense movie An Inconvenient “Truth” and his overwrought endorsement of NAFTA and “free trade” that morphed into WTO that resulted in sending our manufacturing sector to China… those things alone should earn him a special place in hell. Just think of it as cremation on steroids.

Maybe it's a bit like Popper's paradigm, 'An AI that can solve everything, solves nothing.'

"...journalism, a field that lacks quantitative skills." I'll be laughing in agreement for the next week!

People were a lot nicer when they all smoked.

Yeah. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I saw one of those artificial voice boxes. Or someone smoking through a trach tube....🤔

Maybe right after it cures lung cancer, AI can get going on curing addiction.

I don't see how AI could prevent or cure COPD. You don't need AI to know whether the misery of severe COPD or a quick death from cancer is the better option.

Absolutely love these headlines 😂. Also I’m wondering what Vinay’s driving record looks like based on this article.
