Vinay--I have really appreciated your principled stance around the poor public health policies initiated during COVID. You are a voice many of us needed to hear.
I also appreciate your (often counter to the mainstream) perspectives of oncology trials and data, as this is the field I’ve worked in for 20 years. I do think you have a misunderstanding of the collaboration between industry and academia in oncology drug development. I agree there are many issues to point to, but these collaborations have enabled many great advancements over the years. I also know many “KOLs” that have worked to advance the field. And while there are likely some like the caricature in your essay above, they must be an exceptionally small minority. The academics I’ve worked with are not motivated by profit, but by a desire to improve the lives of their patients.
I would love to see you invite someone on with an alternative view on this (a “KOL”) to have a good faith discussion. As I said, I know there are areas for improvement and this would be a great way to expose some of them and begin work to make improvements.
Thank you for writing about me...it was a pleasure meeting you at the confer.......OH WAIT!!!! 😂
Stand Back! Scientist with a Sledge Hammer! Full swings! Tremendous! Let’m have it, but good!
Very entertaining read! I do wonder how he keeps the offended faithful in his elite bay-area workplace from cancelling him.
Vinay, how'd the conference go this week?
My goodness. Must have just finished RFK's book! Good to hear from certified masters of the art. I shall not cast any stones yesterday.
Comedic sarcasm (describing real life)at its finest! VP FTW -again!

This has to be satire. Please tell me this is satire.
I really enjoyed reading this. He really does sound like a "BFD". Thanks for sharing.
Maybe the vaccine critics are just as wrong and annoying to the vaccine experts . . .
" I have tons of ribbons on my ASCO badge. Sometimes I can't see the end. It curves past my belly. Once, I dipped it in the urinal." Hilarious.

Laughed my ass off at that one.
