I did a FOIA request to public health here in BC Canada re mask data when they implemented the mandate. Took them MONTHS and gave me THOUSANDS OF PAGES of guess what???? NEWSPAPER ARTICLES. i kid you not. I do not hate them enough.
Ok, so if the mask requirement is back in hospitals, nurses don't need to get the flu vaccine anymore right? After all, that *was* the punishment they used to use on those who refused.
The Bay Area continues to lose its mind. I do not understand how an area so populated with supposedly educated people can behave in such a way. I’m thankful that I currently live in another area of CA.
Education does not seem to help in such matters. I know people with Ph.Ds who started companies and made 100+ million dollars getting fooled by the Covid propaganda in exactly the same way as a a high school dropout.
The main difference was that the Ph.Ds not only used the mask and took the vaccine, but also had an arrogant disdain for those who didn't. The high school dropouts didn't care what others did.
As a Bay Area nurse, who is also hard of hearing, I feel the effects of this stupidity as both an employee and a patient. First, the physicians and coworkers that I used to consider the smartest are now the ones who haven't taken the masks off since trump said did they don't work...bc let's be real, whether they realize it or not, that's when these people slapped them on their faces. I would say this is beside the point, but it's not. The medical field prides itself on being evidence based....unless it's inconvenient. So are we evidence based or not?? Come November 1 I will print the Cochrane review and post it in the break room and around my unit. I have written in to many hospital"town hall" meetings voicing my concerns and asking that they provide evidence for the policies that are set. Of course they would never address my questions...only shallow questions about the parking lot of cafeteria. My manager has sent an email during a past mandate stating we should respect each other and not discuss it. I refuse to do this. I have written over 20 letters to local politicians and public health figures with no responses. I tell people on a daily basis they have to pull their mask down or I don't know what they are saying.
Then as a patient...I had a doctor appt just yesterday in which I had to wear a mask per the doctors requirement. When I told her I didn't know what she was saying with a mask on, she just said "oh I'm sorry". Apparently It didn't occur to her to pull her mask down so she could communicate with her patient. She just proceeded to ask me how I handled it in the hospital since a mandate is coming again. The cluelessness is mind boggling.
I will not give up and will continue to be outspoken. If anyone has any ideas I'm happy to join others in the fight against this stupidity.
I've often said that I wished Trump had said "WEAR MASKS!" "CLOSE THE SCHOOLS" "MANDATE THE VAX" Imagine how much better we'd be? MSM/Academia and the VAST VAST VAST majority of the healthcare would have automatically taken the opposite positions.
Thank you for the guide to hose down this mess. I stopped trusting public health during the opioid crisis when docs became dealers. Now that public health is politicized the mistrust is complete. Sad state of affairs; I never thought poor health could be so good for our “leaders”
I wrote to the CEO of the largest hospital in my area 2 years ago regarding the basis for mask requirements. He was professional enough to respond but he appealed to authority and emotion in his reply. No scientific studies were provided.
After the junta gets its front-person elected, expect that your remarks will be branded "misinformation" and you will be offered a chance to recant and accept a struggle session, in lieu of more stringent measures. Enjoy.
Well said, Vinay!! I call this mistrust of public health,”natural consequences “. I hope protests and meetings calling for evidence that this foolishness works spring up all over the Bay Area.
“These experiments are especially relevant to understanding panic disorder. One of the most consistent findings in patients with panic disorder is that they are unusually sensitive to carbon dioxide inhalation and other laboratory procedures that increase brain acidity. Most patients with panic disorder will experience a panic attack when they inhale air containing 35% carbon dioxide, while most healthy volunteers will not.
Interestingly, the close relatives of panic patients will also panic during carbon dioxide inhalation, even if they have never suffered from an anxiety disorder. A hypersensitivity to acid in the brain appears to be part of the inherited vulnerability to panic attacks.”
Interesting- I shared this article and FB took it down due to “community standards” for spam! Guess we still aren’t allowed to discuss the lack of research on masking.
How can we get around the fact that, if we are even in a position to get a provider or an institution to discuss the efficacy of masking and we ask that they show evidence, they DO have access to some studies that show efficacy--or that they have become convinced show efficacy. You can coo "Cochrane Review" by the light of the moon till the cows come home but all they have to do is pull out of few of the pro-mask studies in response and they will consider the case closed.
Whenever they have one of these discussions on YouTube I noticed they turn off all the comments, these so-called debates are curated to broadcast a message and not spark conversation among the public
Doctor comes from the Latin word "docere" meaning to teach. Without technology, all they could was educate people based on their observations. As a physician, it boggles my mind that we could have gone so astray.

The high school dropouts have more common sense than the PhD products of leftist indoctrination centers.

Maybe he can get a redo in a few weeks. ;)

Except everyone's so busy trying to pay for the rent/housing/food, they don't have time.
Sometimes I think it’s what they are counting on…

It's nothing short of a miracle that you can stand to still live there!
I have now words for this…except pathetic.

Need to fix the title, there's an error: "Public health *IS* distrusted" There..that's better.
Another option for a clickbait (I'm trying to help) title could be "Why is trust in public health lower than whale shit?"
You're welcome.
