Until they place their signature on the order, note, form, prescription, etc., nothing happens, the system comes to a halt. We, physicians, need to continue to be innovative to find, and insist on, the tools, EMR systems, assistants, care models, and anything else that will get us to the goal of healthcare excellence, while maintaining a work/life balance. Physicians are still among the smartest and most gifted people of any profession. They are the only ones truly qualified to lead the charge.
