I got a flyer to attend an event in OR. This is a small event, outdoors at a public park. The flyer said that masks were optional/recommended. They suggested people wear gloves. Park away from others (in a small public park parking lot, how can that be accomplished?). No food or drink will be provided (food has always been provided in the 30 years that this event has been happening, except during covid) If you want food, bring your own. Stay away with others, don't socialize. Bring disinfectant to spray yourselves and anything you may touch. This event used to be partly about community and seeing people with similar interests, catching up. I am not even sure why they are having this event under these requirements. When I got the flyer I was excited as I wanted to go and see friends I have not seen in a while as I do not live in OR. After reading the flyer, I don't want to be anywhere near these covid fear freaks.
DSM 5 should add a new diagnosis to the list of psychiatric personality disorders named:
“Morbid desperation for virtue signaling”

The major form includes making a clown of oneself in social media by posting irrational, unscientific and ridiculous insanities to signal one’s perceived fake virtue and false superiority.
Many of these Nut Job Individuals are a member of your Profession Vanay...that they ‘exiled their own children to Siberia’ when they are sick, shows just how crazy they and their thought processes are.
That’s why the Industrial Medical Healthcare Delivery has never appealed to me as a source of information on how to live a healthy lifestyle nor the ‘care’ that they do not provide....and I am not young!

Over my career, I’ve hired many people with advanced degrees and it was relatively rare to find someone that was capable of unbiased logical decision making. Very common was a great sense of overconfidence that seems to lead to a mental block that prevented independent decision making. Clearly, a phd can become just as married to an illogical position as anyone else, but the effects tend to be broadcast further.
