Oh my god guys, this is so upsetting. I have met Marion Gruber while working on regulatory issues around FMT (fecal transplants). She always struck me as very smart, dedicated and by the book. She had the hardest questions but was genuinely someone I could respect. Peter Marks seemed like more of a bully and jerk in person (sorry, my impression). Anyway, the decision to regulate FMT as a "drug" rather than stool banks (perfectly safe and cheaper) told me everything I needed to know about loyalties to industry rather than doctors/patients.

No matter what data comes out or how sketchy this all seems, most of my colleagues seem completely unreachable, like invasion of the body snatchers. I try to tell people and share on my facebook, etc and it's the same few who comment/care. Now my hospital system requiring booster of every employeed. I wrote a very well considered and referenced email to the head of infection control and didn't even get a response. One trainee I discussed this with gave me a blank look and said "I just follow guidelines and don't think about things like that." I am worried on so many levels: for my own kids-who may have forced mandates when they start college next year, for my patients, for myself (donated kidney in november and now seeing AKI data from New Zealand), and most of all for what has happened to the profession that I have dedicated my life to.

How is it so many knowledgeable people are in the covidian camp?! I see this among my drug development collegues who should know better. My firm has helped pharma/biotech develop new therapeutics for more than 35 years. But my colleagues all lined up for shot after shot. A few are rethinking it now. As soon as they started talking about a novel vaccine platform rolling out in 9 months, I knew it was temporally impossible for the safety data to be mature. Plus it was a gene therapy!! Where are people's brains residing of late??

I really appreciate the information you've provided here and your perspective with respect to how you've been affected. I love the analogy to "invasion of the body snatchers" which I can absolutely relate to my experiences as well!

Live Below Your Means, and be ready to walk and find a new job if they don't listen. Keep working to get the word out there... It is amazing how many people have no clue.

My brother got 2 boosters... I was aghast. He has some sense of where I stand and didn't even reach out to me for advice. His 20 something son got a *booster* and was sick for 3 days.

This is a crime.

Another frustrating thing the government does when comparing myocarditis risk due to Covid versus myocarditis risk from mRNA vaccination is that it’s a false comparison given that vaccination doesn’t prevent infection. It would be a valid question if vaccination prevented infection but many young people have been infected and vaccinated and will almost certainly get infected multiple times in the future. There is no point in risking myocarditis via vaccination without a benefit that exceeds the risk.

Covid does not cause myocarditis:

It's another Covidian myth. Misinformation, as a matter of fact.

The first suggest that amyloidosis in older people may allow the virus to reside in the heart. Not likely in younger people.

If an infection can cause heart issues and the vaccine can cause heart issues isn't it dangerous to double the risk intentionally? I suspect many young people are engaged with others even more frequently than older people; could be wrong given the idiot phones. Engagement suggests more exposure and I suspect nearly all young people have recovered from getting infected. Thus the vaccine only increase risk.

Vinay, Everything you say here is true. So how can you continue to be a big fan of the government doing everything and fixing all social ills? The government IS the problem.

corporate power is the problem. These agencies are essentially arms of the corporations they should oversee. The 737 max issue was at it's heart this same exact problem. I think Vinay has, and if not, many others have spoken about fixing things such as our campaign finance laws, the "revolving doors" etc etc to begin to fix this.

The medical / pharmaceutical complex is beyond repair. At this stage there is no recourse but to implement parallel institutions. Lives should not be sacrificed at the altars of greed , ego and power .

Why does the deadline for Pfizer's safety report even matter? Regardless of the conclusions, the jabs will be approved.

He only cares about drug company profits $$$$$$$. Maybe Gotlieb is saving a spot on the Pfizer board for him.

Probably more true than you realize.

It's very frustrating and demoralizing that we don't have anyone in government stepping in to address this conduct by the FDA. Sadly, the only thing that might stop them are lawsuits.

Happy to see you finally talking about the safety risks. But they are not just there for adolescent and young men. Aggressive cancers are spiking across age groups, stroke and cardiac issues in the elderly, prion-type diseases, autoimmune dysfunction...

I agree. In my patient population alone (about 3000 patients in a rural community of 15k), I have had two unexplained cases of a CIDP-esque in 50 yr old men within 3 months of one another. Doesn't pass the sniff test.

And people wonder why we don’t trust our government or our medical system…I read that last post Vinay wrote about republicans being docs (I got the joke but WOW). And it’s something else just to KNOW that governmental agenda has its claws in medicine - guess I’m just naive.

I’m surprised how much power these agencies wield despite the clear ineptitude and flat out negligence.

Am gonna go out on a limb here, and say if the risk was presented to young women instead of men, there would have been an immediate reaction and correction
